Advanced Players

Advanced players are usually players that have been playing a long time. Their overall skills are developed substantially.
Many have had much more varied group experience and are a member of one or more groups within a community of musicians. There are those that are
or have studied music at a college or university and have expressed a desire to pursue an artistic direction in a style of music that speaks to them.
These musicians are often composing original music and /or are playing in various groups on a professional level generating income.
In my personal experience these players want to work on a more selective range of subjects and also in a more intense manner.
The main reason generally being to improve an area they perceive themselves lacking in knowledge and experience. Or even how to work on a specific
genre or subject ie: phrasing,jazz,latin..etc .
Again everybody is unique but here are some common ones:
- working guitarist who generally wants to become a better improviser
- pop/rock guitarist intrigued by sophistication of jazz
- help in preparing for post secondary audition
- approaching jazz standards/chord melody
- technique development
- composition etc.....
